The runtime for Kraven the Hunter has been confirmed, making it the longest Sony Marvel movie to date.

Kraven the Hunter stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular character, also known as Sergei Kravinoff. Kravinoff is a classic Spider-Man villain who, in the comics, tries to defeat the superhero to prove he's the best hunter in the world.

After various delays, the movie is set to hit cinemas on December 13, with its runtime now confirmed as 127 minutes, or two hours and seven minutes (per IFCO).

The lengthy runtime has surpassed every other Sony Marvel movie, including fellow Spider-Man spin-offs Venom (112 minutes), Morbius (104 minutes), Venom: Let There Be Carnage (97 minutes), and the previous longest movie Madame Web (116 minutes).

Kraven the Hunter was originally scheduled to be released last year, but the January 2023 date was first pushed back to October 2023 and then August 2024, before heading for a December 2024 arrival.

Directed by JC Chandor, the action movie will feature Ariana DeBose (as Calypso, a voodoo priestess and Kraven's love interest), Fred Hechinger (as Chameleon, a Spidey villain and Kraven's half-brother), Russell Crowe (as Kraven's father Nikolai), and Levi Miller (as a young Kraven).

The trailer also teases the appearance of another Spider-Man villain, with Alessandro Nivola starring as Aleksei Sytsevich, aka the Rhino. The clip sees Rhino's transformation take place as he injects himself with a serum and later attempts to take on Kraven.

Elsewhere, Taylor-Johnson has likened the upcoming spin-off to a James Bond movie, after being rumoured as the new 007.

"I think, you know, if that's the thing you're really into [Bond] and that's the kind of movie you love, then you should come see this movie because the action in this is insane and super-exciting," he told ComicBook.

Kraven the Hunter will be released in cinemas on December 13, 2024.
