Marvel's Blade revival with Mahershala Ali has been indefinitely postponed yet again.

The Marvel film's journey to the big screen has been a rocky one since its announcement back in 2019. It was previously delayed due to changes in directors and screenwriters, as well as being temporarily shelved due to last year's strikes in Hollywood.

It seemed to pick up steam again in December 2023 when Ali confirmed the film would be back in action "relatively soon" ahead of its November 2025 release date, but it's now been confirmed that the film has been postponed once again.

According to Variety, Disney has removed Blade from its 2025 release calendar. The film was set to release on November 7, but this slot has now been taken by Predator: Badlands.

While a new release date for Blade is yet to be confirmed, Marvel has added three untitled projects to its schedule for February 18, 2028, May 5, 2028 and November 10, 2028.

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Foe star Aaron Pierre is no longer attached to Blade, after previously being cast in an undisclosed role back in 2022.

The actor confirmed he was involved in some "conversations" to star, but this never came to fruition due to the film's lengthy delays.

"Early on, there were conversations," he said in March. "As the project evolved, I'm no longer part of that — attached."

However, Ali is still attached to star as the famous vampire-slayer superhero, alongside Delroy Lindo and Mia Goth, although their characters haven't been confirmed yet.

While a new director is yet to be confirmed following Yann Demange's exit in June 2024, Eric Pearson is working on the script, following previous drafts by Michael Starrbury, Nic Pizzolatto and Michael Green.
