Marvel's Blade revival with Mahershala Ali has been temporarily shelved yet again.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe film has had a rocky road already, but was at the point where pre-production was underway and it was gearing up to start filming in Atlanta, with True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto signing up as a writer just last week.
But now The Hollywood Reporter states that the pause button has been hit due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike, with this being the major movie affected.

The publication also notes that Marvel Studios projects are commonly re-written on the fly and in major ways, citing Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's scenes not being confirmed completely until cameras had already been rolling for a month, and that 25 pages of the Ant-Man and the Wasp script were being written a day on the film's set.
The studio has a lot of projects in the pipeline, with Captain America: New World Order, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, and Ironheart all currently in production, and Deadpool 3 and Thunderbolts set to begin filming in the next few weeks.
