The sequel, which was announced soon after the original film was released, was initially meant to hit cinemas on January 17, 2025, but was later pushed back to Friday, May 16.

Speaking to Digital Spy last January about how much she enjoyed both acting and working behind-the-scenes on the film, Williams said: "It was such a pleasure to be officially very involved in the movie from the beginning.

"I like to be that involved anyway, but this time, I had a credit that meant I was allowed to be – no-one could deny me drafts of the script. It was the best.

"I absolutely loved it. I feel like it will be hard for me now to be in a movie where I'm not also producing, because I just love all the details. I find it all fascinating and wonderful."
