Guardians of the Galaxy star Sean Gunn has been cast as a major DC villain.

The actor, who played Kraglin Obfonteri in the Marvel universe, is set to become evil businessman Maxwell Lord in the new DC Universe that's being overseen by his brother James Gunn and Peter Safran.

It's currently unclear whether Gunn will be making a cameo appearance in the upcoming Superman: Legacy movie which begins production next year – marking the start of the new superhero extended universe. Though according to Deadline, his character will be referenced as part of the film's background, before making his official debut in later DC projects.
