Star Wars' Daisy Ridley has addressed the possibility of returning to the franchise, revealing that she is open to the idea.
The actress played Rey in the sequel trilogy, with the character’s future unknown following the events of 2019's The Rise of Skywalker.
Speaking to IMDb at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, the actress was asked if she had any plans to revisit the franchise, to which she replied: “I mean, I’m open to a phone call – I am looking for employment.”

Episode IX served as the conclusion to the Skywalker Saga, which began in 1977 with A New Hope. Recent output in the franchise has been on the smaller screen, with Andor and The Mandalorian series airing on Disney+.
There are currently multiple films in development, with Rian Johnson reportedly planning a trilogy separate from the previous arc; Taika Waititi and Patty Jenkins are also helming projects, with the latter directing Rogue Squadron.

The film, which is directed by Rachel Lambert, sees Ridley play a socially awkward office worker who fantasises about her own death. However, her outlook on life changes when she connects with a colleague (Dave Merheje).
Fresh from its premiere, the film has received positive reviews so far, with The Hollywood Reporter describing it as a “graceful treatise on how challenging — but liberating — it can be to make connections.” IndieWire echoed this sentiment, saying: “For a film about the pull of death, there sure is a lot of life in this low-key charmer.”
Ridley’s other upcoming projects include The Marsh King’s Daughter, which features fellow Star Wars alumni Ben Mendelsohn (Rogue One), and Disney’s Young Woman and the Sea, which depicts the life of swimmer Gertrude Ederle.
The Mandalorian seasons 1-2 are streaming now on Disney+, where season 3 premieres on March 1. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the entire Skywalker Saga are available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K now, as well as on Disney+.
