The Saw franchise is set to bring back another veteran star.
According to Deadline, Shawnee Smith will be returning for the upcoming instalment Saw 10, reprising her role as Amanda Young.
While studios Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures are currently keeping plot and character details under-wraps, it's almost certain that Smith would be appearing in flashback form only, as her character has been dead since the third film.

Should Smith be playing Amanda once again she wouldn't be the only veteran actor returning to the franchise either, with confirmation that Tobin Bell would be reprising his role as Jigsaw killer John Kramer.
Kramer is the original villain of the series who, after being diagnosed with a frontal lobe tumour that had developed from colon cancer, decided to trap victims in elaborate and deadly games in order to test their will to live.
First appearing as one of Kramer's victims, Amanda would go on to become one of the killer's apprentices before both characters met their end in 2006's Saw III. The pair have since appeared in later films via flashbacks.
Speaking about Bell's return, producers Oren Koules and Mark Burg said: "What a thrill to be reuniting with Tobin. His performance as John Kramer is part of the magic that made this franchise a phenomenon and his character is an active part of this film.

"We have been listening to what the fans have been asking for and are hard at work planning a movie that Saw aficionados and horror fans alike will love."
Bell and Smith will be joining franchise newcomers Synnøve Macody Lund, Steven Brand and Michael Beach. Kevin Greutert will also be back to direct, following his work on 2009's Saw VI and 2010's Saw: The Final Chapter.
Saw 10 is currently scheduled for release on October 27, 2023.
