Star Wars' Oscar Isaac admitted to feeling a bit burnt out on the franchise following the release of The Rise of Skywalker, and wanted to pursue some more character-based, less special effects-driven work.
Nearly three years on, in which Isaac starred in Moon Knight and Dune, as well as smaller projects The Card Counter and The Letter Room, the actor seems more open to playing Poe Dameron once again.
"I don't know. I'm open to anything. You never know," he explained in a SiriusXM interview. "I have no real feeling one way or another.

"I'm open to any good story. Time is the one thing that becomes challenging… as you get older and kids and all that. Where do [movies] fit in?
"If there was a great story and a great director and [Lucasfilm president] Kathy [Kennedy] came to me and was like, 'I have this great idea,' then I’m so open to it."

At the moment, it feels like Star Wars has moved away from characters introduced in the sequel trilogy. Things like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor are set in-between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, while The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett are set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, with all of them leaning closer to the Original Trilogy.

Kathleen Kennedy stated last year that Sequel Trilogy characters like Rey, Poe and Finn had not been forgotten about, and that the Lucasfilm creative team were having "conversations" about what to do with them in the future.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the entire Skywalker Saga are available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K now, as well as on Disney+.
