Marvel fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after some caught a glimpse of its trailer at San Diego Comic Con last week.
With viewers excited to see what Chris Pratt's Star-Lord and his crew will be getting up to next, some are wondering if the Guardians will cross paths with a famous face on their next adventure.
After seeing musician Harry Styles join the MCU as Thanos' brother Eros (aka Starfox) in a post-credit scene of Chloé Zhao's Eternals, fans have been wondering whether he could appear in the upcoming Guardians movie.
Chatting at Comic-Con, the film's director James Gunn addressed the speculation.

"Nope!" Gunn definitively declared to ExtraTV. "I'm setting the record straight. He's not [in the movie] – Starfox doesn’t pop up."

However, the director did share his excitement for fans to see the next chapter in the story of the MCU's Guardians of the Galaxy.
"I feel really good about the movie," he remarked. "What I want is for people to just experience this movie in some small way, in the way we are, as a real true culmination to this story and the story of our lives."

As for Eros. it's unclear when we'll next see him appear in a Marvel production, but he'll likely show up in an Eternals sequel. Unfortunately, no such movie has currently been announced on the roster for Phases 4, 5 or 6.
The Marvels and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 seem to be the only upcoming MCU film that will likely have extra-terrestrial settings where Styles' character could appear.
Despite not knowing exactly when we'll see Eros again, fans can rest easy in the knowledge that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed his story will be explored in the future.
"The adventures of Eros and Pip is something that is very exciting for us," Feige commented recently while speaking to MTV News.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1 and Vol 2 are available now. The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is coming to Disney+ later this year, and then Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 arrives on May 5, 2023.
