Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 has bagged itself another star – this time, in the form of Daniela Melchior.
Daniela, who appeared as Ratcatcher in James Gunn's DC movie The Suicide Squad, has reunited with the writer-director once more for the rival Marvel Studios' upcoming sequel.
Gunn confirmed the news on Twitter yesterday (June 1), telling fans that she is "wonderful in the role". What that role is, however, is being kept a mystery for the moment.

"I can confirm (and confirm she's wonderful in the role)," Gunn said, reposting an article announcing the casting.
"[Daniela Melchior] is one of my favourite people & actors around," he continued, "& I hope this is just the second of many projects we'll work on together."

A clearly excited Daniela also confirmed the news on her own social media channels, writing: "Omg I'm shocked with this tweet and that this secret just got out".
Thanking fans for their support, she added: "I'll keep your kind words in my heart".
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 wrapped filming last month and is expected to premiere in May of next year, following a lengthy delay after James Gunn was initially fired in 2018.

Reflecting on his Guardians journey, Gunn revealed: "The majority of the last ten years of my life have been spent working on & thinking about the Guardians.
"I still have a long road ahead of me with VFX & editing, but it was still momentous to me.
"It is somewhat simple to explain to others how much I love this cast & crew. It is more difficult to explain how much I love these characters - that I see them as parts of myself & parts of those I love, & filming them, & writing their words, is a way of expressing that love."
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1 and Vol 2 are available now. The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is coming to Disney+ later this year, and then Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 arrives on May 5, 2023.
