Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has revealed that two actors of the main cast have never visited the set of the movies, though they arguably had good reasons for doing so.
In the comments of a recent Instagram post, Gunn was asked where the actors who play Rocket and Groot (aka Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel) were in a first look snap from the set of Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3, shared by Nebula actress Karen Gillan.
"Rocket's acting and motion capture is always done by [Sean Gunn]," explained James Gunn about his actor brother.

"The voice is done by Bradley. Neither Vin nor Bradley have ever been on a Guardians set," he continued.
However, you might recognise Sean Gunn from another role in the Guardians franchise as he plays Kraglin Obfonteri in both films, a member of Yondu Udonta's faction of the Ravagers.

Present in the snap from set alongside the Gunn brothers and Gillan were Chris Pratt (Star Lord), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Zoe Saldana (Gamora) and Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer) as well as new addition to the cast, Will Poulter.
"Very glad to have the Guardians family back together with our fearless leader back where he belongs!" wrote Gillan in the caption. "This movie is gonna blow your socks off so GET. READY. PEOPLE."
Replying to the picture on his Twitter, James Gunn wrote: "It's been a strange & long & at times challenging journey to get here, but the obstacles along the way have only made this moment more blissful. Back on set with my Guardians family for the first day of shooting."
Guardians of the Galaxy vol 1 and vol 2 are available now on Disney+.
