Charlize Theron is getting together with Mulan director Niki Caro to develop a new Netflix project.
It's unclear whether the Oscar-winning actress will appear in the movie or just produce, but Variety has confirmed that it'll be based on a New York Times article titled 'The Fight For Gender Equality in One of the Most Dangerous Sports on Earth'.
This tells the true story of four female surfers – Bianca Valenti, Andrea Moller, Paige Alms and Keala Kennelly – who are fighting for the right to participate in big wave contests.

Becky Johnston penned the screenplay, which chronicles the quartet's personal stories and their powerful friendship.
If Caro's work on the aforementioned live-action Disney epic is anything to go off, this real-life drama should be one to watch out for on the big screen.
In Digital Spy's five-star review, we wrote: "What makes Mulan so special is, as was promised, the way it hews closer to the original Ballad of Mulan than the Disney original did, and the themes it chooses to explore in a more obvious way. There is no room for manoeuvring: Mulan is a feminist story both subtly and overtly.
