Tom Holland has revealed that his long-delayed Uncharted movie, inspired by the titular video game, is set to finally start filming in a month's time.

Speaking to IGN at the world premiere for Disney Pixar's Onward, the Marvel actor also said that the film has been particularly inspired by the fourth instalment in the Nathan Drake adventure series.

"It was interesting, when I sat down with [Sony Pictures chairman] Tom Rothman and we were talking about video games, and I was like 'Oh, I've just finished Uncharted'. And he was like, 'Well, why don't you play Nathan Drake?'" said Holland.

"I remember being like, 'I would do anything to play Nathan Drake. Please, that would be amazing'. So yeah, we start shooting in like four weeks. It's going to be an exciting one."

The Spider-Man star also assured fans that the movie will provide a "fresh take" on the character that explores his younger years – a side we haven't really seen of the iconic treasure hunter before. It's going to be filled with location hops, too.
