An Uncharted mystery has been solved (kind of).
There's been a whole lot of speculation about the movie's post credits scenes ever since it hit cinemas. One showed the adult version of Nathan Drake's brother Sam Drake, proving he was still alive but having a tough time in a rundown prison cell after it was assumed he'd died.

One thing fans didn't know, though? Exactly who the person playing the adult version of Sam is. We know Outer Banks star Rudy Pankow played the young version of the character in the movie's opening flashback, but now he's cleared up if he also portrayed the weathered, much older version too.

"That [second-to-last] scene with the bearded guy, that was not me," he admitted to The Hollywood Reporter, denying he played the older version of the character. "I don't know if I should have said that or not, but I will stay true to the fact that it was not me," he confessed.
As for whether or not he could reprise the role in any potential sequels? Well, it sounds like the star is still hopeful. "I don't think I should have expectations, but at the same time, my fingers are crossed. So I hope it goes in that direction, and I hope that they just throw a couple of scruffies on my chin so I can play a late-20s to 30-year-old Sam.
"I would also get a little bigger for the role, so I think I can pull it off. So if there is a sequel, the fates will decide what will happen, but it would be a blast to hunt treasure alongside Tom Holland."
The star also dished a little more on playing the role of the younger Sam, admitting that he was told by his team that he would "get the treasure-hunting pigeonhole" by starring in both Uncharted and Outer Banks – but he was a-ok with all that.

"It didn't actually come up [during casting], but I'm sure [the casting directors] did see it. I'm sure they were like, 'Okay, he knows how to play a treasure hunter,'" he revealed.
The identity of the mystery actor playing adult Sam has been much discussed, with director Ruben Fleischer seemingly purposefully keeping the person we now know to be Pankow secret.
When asked who it was by IndieWire last month, he coyly responded: "It's a bit of a mystery. I'm not even sure he's credited."
A bit of a mystery, indeed.
