Star Wars' John Boyega has revealed he was "adamant" that his character Finn have a larger role in The Rise of Skywalker.

The actor will reprise his part as the Stormtrooper-turned-Resistance hero in the upcoming movie, though has responded to one fan who argued his character wasn't as "developed" in The Last Jedi.

Taking to Twitter, Boyega wrote: "I hear you! Give it a shot ep 9! I was really adamant on more Finn involvement. Hopefully you like it!"

He later responded to another fan who suggested the films "did Finn dirty", Boyega admitting he "didn't know many fans felt this way".

Meanwhile, earlier this month the actor weighed into the debate over whether Anakin Skywalker or Rey is the better Jedi.

"I'm sorry guys but Anakin slapping all of us in a pit of lava. Including Kylo," he said, adding: "Obi [Wan Kenobi] is the OG but come on now you know Anakin is taking out guys."
