Star Wars confirms what Kylo Ren and Rey are destroying in Rise of Skywalker trailer

With the arrival of the final trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker earlier this week, fans have been curious about one particular part in it.

The footage, which featured everything from Rey (Daisy Ridley) torn between her light and dark side, to the legendary voice of Luke Skywalker, left some fans speculating exactly what Rey and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) are destroying in one of the scenes.

In the trailer, Rey and Kylo Ren can be seen striking down a black figure, and though many of you might have already guessed it, we finally have an official confirmation.

Thanks to The Star Wars Show, we now know for sure that they are destroying Kylo's Darth Vader shrine. We mean, it was pretty obvious, but at least it's officially out there now.

The Rise of Skywalker will be the end of the Skywalker saga and director JJ Abrams has promised fans a "cohesive" conclusion.

"This is about bringing this thing to a close in a way that is emotional and meaningful and also satisfying in terms of actually answering [as many] questions as possible," he said.

"So if years from now, someone's watching these movies, all nine of them, they're watching a story that is as cohesive as possible."

Elsewhere, The Rise of Skywalker has already surpassed a huge Avengers: Endgame record as the movie reportedly sold 45% more tickets than Endgame in the opening hours of its pre-sale.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has a release date of Thursday, December 19 in the UK and Friday, December 20 in the US.
