Note: Contains spoilers for Men in Black: International.

If we can blame Marvel for anything, it's for making credits scenes a thing again, meaning we can never really rule out any blockbuster having them.

Men in Black: International is the latest release of the 2019 summer season and, if successful, could be the start of a new series of movies starring Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson.

So, does it do anything to set up a Men in Black: International 2, or Men in Black 5 if you'd prefer? We won't tease you... it doesn't. There is absolutely nothing during or after the credits.

While it could have been used as a teaser for future adventures, there was also the chance for a crowd-pleasing cameo from original stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.

Agent J and Agent K didn't show up in Men in Black: International (although they can be spotted in a painting, saving the world), but it turns out that there was a reason that they weren't in it.

What to Read Next

"It was brought up by a couple of people on the outside, but it felt they both loom so large it just didn't feel right," producer Laurie MacDonald told Variety.

That makes total sense as it could have detracted from Men in Black: International being effectively the origin story of Agent H (Hemsworth) and Agent M (Thompson).

Perhaps now that they've been established in the world (Agent H now head of MIB's London branch and Agent M heading back to New York), we could well see more of Agent J and K in the future...

Men in Black: International is in cinemas now.
