Rise of the Tomb Raider will not just take place in Siberia, according to game director Brian Horton.

Horton told Game Informer that the game would feature an oasis and won't be completely permafrost.

"There's a bubble of the world that seems to exist outside Siberia. We call it the oasis," Horton explained.

"It isn't completely permafrost. This oasis, which we're not going into a lot of detail about - just now that different weather, different temperatures are important to make sure we're not going with one single look throughout the whole game."

New Rise of the Tomb Raider details and screenshots were unveiled in a recent episode of Game Informer.

The game is primarily set in the frozen wilds of Siberia, and will send Lara on a hunt for the lost secrets of immortality.
