Telltale Games' Minecraft spinoff Story Mode has been confirmed for Wii U in a move that will mark the first time the series has appeared on a Nintendo console.
Minecraft: Story Mode is a single-player episodic adventure from the studio behind Tales from the Borderlands and the Walking Dead games.
Featuring the voice talents of Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Billy West, and Paul Reubens, the game was previously confirmed for PC, iOS, Android, PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
The original Minecraft has been released for a wide range of platforms and mobile devices, but never a Nintendo system, until now.
Story Mode's jump to Wii U also marks the first time the series has found a new home since Microsoft acquired Minecraft from Mojang last year.
A release date for the first episode of Minecraft: Story Mode is yet to be announced.
