Minecraft: Story Mode has been officially unveiled at today's (July 4) Minecon event in London.
Attendees have been treated to the first trailer for the upcoming adventure game, which is being developed by Telltale.
Following in the Telltale tradition, Minecraft: Story Mode will be released episodically, and player choice will affect the outcome of the adventure.
The game will feature the vocal talents of Patton Oswalt, as well as Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Billy West, and Paul Reubens.
Over the course of five episodes, players will control Jesse (Patton Oswalt), as he travel to famous Minecraft destinations like the Nether, the Farlands and the End.
Jesse and his pals will need to find The Order of the Stone if they are to save the world from "something dreadful".

Mojang's Owen Hill said that Telltale has crafted a story that "follows the logic of Minecraft, but still manages to feel original".
"It's actually pretty funny too," he continued. "And the pig is adorable. We're super excited about players digging deeper into the world of Minecraft: Story Mode later this year."
Minecraft: Story Mode will be available on Xbox consoles, PlayStation consoles, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices.
More details are expected to be announced during a panel at this weekend's Minecon event, which takes place at the ExCeL London Exhibition and Conference Centre.
