Was a female version of The Legend of Zelda's Link just revealed by Nintendo?
A new playable female character named Linkle is introduced in Hyrule Warriors Legends, and guess what? There are some striking similarities between her and Link.
Linkle wields two crossbows and lives in a small village filled with Cuccos, according to Nintendo.
Players will be able to command multiple characters on the battlefield and immediately switch between any of them.
Hyrule Warriors: Legends launches on March 25 for Nintendo 3DS. It will also be available as part of a limited-edition bundle that includes a compass watch and a copy of the game.
The news was announced during the latest Nintendo Direct, which aired last night.

Other announcements that came out of the broadcast include plans to release The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD on Wii U, and confirmation that the first original Zelda game on the console would launch next year.
The video ended with a new Super Smash Bros trailer, in which Final Fantasy VII favourite Cloud Strife was unveiled as an upcoming playable character.
