The release date of the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Amiibo figures may have been leaked.

According to keen-eyed Reddit users, code on Nintendo of Europe sites seemingly displays launch dates of March 4, 2017 next to three Breath of the Wild figures.

The three in question – Archer Link, Rider Link and a Guardian – only list on their display page as 2017, which is when we know the game and Nintendo's new NX console will be on sale.

While this may just be a mistake or the date of some other launch, this has got some suggesting that it may signal the release of the game itself or indeed the NX.

Nintendo has said that the game will be in our hands in 2017, and it has been hinted that the new game will be a launch title for the NX.

Amiibo are usually out on the same date or after the release of a game too, adding weight to the apparent leak.

However, March 4 is also a Saturday, making it a highly unlikely game release date as Nintendo usually release games on a Friday in Europe.

Many are also saying that the date shown may just be a mistake and nothing to take too seriously. We shall just have to wait and see.

Nintendo previously announced a set of Zelda Amiibo figures to celebrate the franchise's 30th anniversary, including Ocarina of Time Link and Toon Link.

These figures will also have "special functionality" with Breath of the Wild alongside the new game's official figures, and will be released around Christmas.
