The Final Fantasy VII remake stole the show at Sony's E3 press conference, but it wasn't the only new entry in the role-playing series revealed at the event.

World of Final Fantasy was announced for PlayStation 4 and Vita, and it promises to be a radically different instalment.

In development at Square Enix for a 2016 release, the game has more of a kid-friendly tone and re-imagines the series heroes as pint-size Chibi characters.

A trailer for the game was revealed at E3, but little can be gleamed from it besides the cutesy graphical style.

Square Enix also showcased a trailer for the Final Fantasy VII remake at the event, and confirmed that the game has been recreated from the ground up.

It will be released first on PS4, with other platforms to follow at a later date.
