The recently-rumored remake of the 1997 PlayStation classic Final Fantasy 7 has been confirmed.
Unveiled alongside a new trailer, Square Enix's upcoming remake will be released first on PlayStation 4 - with other platforms to follow.
The game is said to be a fully-fledged remake, rather than a port of the PSone original, rendered in a similar graphical style to Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and Dissidia Final Fantasy.
Square Enix previously ported the role-playing classic to PS4, repackaging the HD version that was released for PC in the summer of 2013.
The announcement was made during Sony PlayStation's press conference at E3 2015.
