E3 2015: Bethesda's press conference as it happened

Bethesda kicks off E3 with an early-hours press conference, with in-depth looks at Fallout 4 and Doom.

E3 starts earlier this year thanks to Bethesda hosting a press conference a day earlier than the traditional line-up of Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft and Sony on the Monday,

So, what can we expect? An in-depth look at the recently-announced Fallout 4, as well as the long-awaited Doom reboot. Elsewhere, there are ongoing rumblings of a Dishonored sequel, as well as a remaster of the original game for PS4 and Xbox One.

Re-live all the action from Bethesda's press conference as it happened below:

04:18And the conference is over! Thanks for joining us, and make sure you return later today for Microsoft at 5:30pm UK time.
04:15Big news - Fallout 4 is out THIS YEAR - November 10.
04:12Bethesda has revealed a Fallout Shelter app that's available now on iOS devices.
04:07Other things from this detailed look: You can go where you want and do what you want. The Pip Boy has had a revamp, and features actual games you can play on it. VATS is back, and the dog that joins you can be given contextual commands.
04:03Cut a long story short - your character makes it out 200 years into the future as the sole survivor of their vault. And yes, the main character is voiced.
04:00Fallout 4 starts before the war starts in the '50s. Players sculpt their hero - male or female - in the bathroom mirror, and whoever they leave this scene as, they play as. A baby will also be created based on how both parents look.
03:48Game director Todd Howard makes to the stage.
03:48Hines is back on stage and jokes that the conference is over. OF COURSE NOT. Here's Fallout 4.
03:46The Elder Scrolls Legends is a free-to-play strategy card game coming to PC and iPad later this year.

03:41Dishonored: Definitive Edition - another rumour before the show - is also official. It's available this year on PS4 and Xbox One, with all previous content and better visuals.
03:40Yep, it's Dishonored 2, with a female assassin dispatching steampunk guards before taking out her target. Players will have the choice of choosing between her or the game's original protagonist. It'll be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC.
03:35Now for Arkane Studios, the creator of Dishonored. They're showing what's next.
03:35It's playable at E3 this week, and is launching in 2015.

What to Read Next

03:34Here's something on BattleCry, Bethesda's online shooter that was announced last year. Beta sign ups are now up after being tested in several regions.
03:33Bethesda has announced a new digital platform, Bethesda Net, an online home for its online services and website. Doom SnapMap will make use of it.
03:32em>Doom is launching in Spring 2016 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Won't someone think of the demons?

— Kirk McKeand (@MckKirk) June 15, 2015

03:31Probably goes without saying, but the action is all without iron sights - all run and gun, fast reloads.
03:29Looks like the Doom segment is ending with a visit to Hell. There's open canyons with enemies on multiple levels chucking fireballs, with a scrap against a rocket launcher-limbed enemy that sees a grisly demise by a melee kill with a punch down the throat.
03:25Doom has an editor mode named 'Snapmap', allowing players to create their own content, such as modes and scenarios - an example is a co-op-based boss mode, a classic deathmatch experience, credit-based zombie-killing mode. Players can create maps and combine their own game logic.
03:21"Doom is more than just the single-player campaign experience". Doom multiplayer is fast-paced arena-based combat. Modes include Domination, Clan Arena and Freeze Tag. Power-ups are in, too.
03:21While it's not as fast as we remember the original Doom games being, it's pretty quick for a modern first-person game. There's some speedy strafing and leaping around, at least.
03:20As well as the original double-barrel shotgun we've seen a machine gun, the plasma rifle and, yep, the chainsaw. Like the shotgun, it pretty much is splitting everything in half.
03:18Other things we're noticing; some slightly elaborate animations when picking up weapons, the shotgun pretty much just tears stuff in two (there's a lot of blood), weapon switching pauses the action, and there's flashback-style holograms that can be activated to clue you in on what happened at the base.
03:15So far we'd say it's a mix of Doom 3 and classic Doom in our eyes - faster paced but with moments of exploring dark corridors, a shotgun tearing through demons, melee kills, the original door noise when exploring a dark base.
03:13Here's the details: combat is based around bad-ass demons, big 'effin guns and moving really, really fast. You're set on a research faculty on Mars, and the first footage is shown.
03:11Hines asks whether the crowd has heard of Doom before. They have. Looks like that's up first.
03:09And we're off! Vice president Pete Hines starts us off. "We put this show on for you to show the whole world what we're up to, and what's coming from Bethesda in the next year."
03:05And now killing time chatting about the recent five second Doom teaser. Five minutes late!
03:02The conference is officially late - the pre-show presenters are killing time chatting about Megaton from Fallout 3. It'll start very soon, we're sure.
02:49Vault Boy says hi:

Only 15 minutes to go before Bethesda take to the stage. He's excited! #E32015 pic.twitter.com/XEtpHs4OBv

02:47And we're live! Kinda, with a pre-show. Will keep us busy until things get underway. Any predictions or things you guys are interested in seeing?
02:45In around 15 minutes, E3 is officially underway. Are your bodies ready? Our bodies are ready.
02:38We're now inside. Here's a peek:

We've taken our seat ready for the bethesda showcase at 7pm local time #e32015 pic.twitter.com/1zoIf2O5PK

02:34Though it starts on the hour, Bethesda tweeted (after its premature Dishonored 2 reveal - oops!) that we would expect "surprises" from 6:45pm, so maybe the stream will kick off a little early.
02:29Heads up that this blog has gone live a little early - the show won't start until the hour (3am UK time, 7pm local time). Meanwhile, here's a look at outside the event:
