Count Game of Thrones star Carice van Houten – the actress behind the 'Red Woman' Melisandre – among those who don't believe Jon Snow is dead.
The cast of the HBO fantasy series have been split on if Kit Harington's apparent on-screen demise will be final when Game of Thrones returns next year.
During an appearance at London Film and Comic Con last weekend, van Houten was asked by anxious fans if she believes Jon Snow really is dead.
"No, he can't be dead. No," she replied.
As to whether it will be Melisandre's mystical powers that revive the spurned Night's Watch commander, van Houten coyly said: "I've seen that on the internet; like I've seen stuff saying, 'We'll forgive you if you save him'."
There will be a lot to forgive, especially given Melisandre's hand in the brutal death of Shireen Baratheon (Kerry Ingram).

"I had so many people on Twitter telling me 'f**k off, bitch'," she revealed at the weekend convention. "I've never had so many death wishes in my life. It was so interesting to experience that."
Returning to the Jon Snow question, van Houten seems to be siding with Emmy nominee Emilia Clarke in thinking that the hero could still be alive.
Meanwhile, Maisie Williams and series director David Nutter seem to think that there's no hope for the battered and betrayed Jon Snow.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO and Sky Atlantic next year.
