Bad news, The Middle fans – it looks like that planned Sue Heck spin-off isn't going to be happening after all. Boo!
Following the end of the main series earlier this year, it was revealed that ABC had ordered a pilot that would focus on Eden Sher's character Sue.
However, the network has now decided not to move forward with the project, which would have followed the character as she navigates life and a career away from a small town as a 20-something in Chicago.
According to Deadline, studio Warner Bros TV may shop the project around other networks in the hope that it gets picked up somewhere else.
The Middle co-creators Eileen Heisler and DeAnn Heline were both returning to oversee the pilot.
The main show ended back in May, with Axl going off to take a job in Denver, and ends with an epilogue that shows what happened to the family in the future.

Heisler also teased the possibility of the show returning at some point down the line, saying: "Our ratings have been great and ABC was very clear they did want more seasons – it was our decision to bring it to a close.
"And hey... I can't tell you what's next... gotta save it for the reboot. See you in 10 years!"
