That deal to bring Veronica Mars back for a limited series at Hulu is getting closer and closer to being an actual thing that's happening.

It's important to note that nothing has been announced, and Hulu has declined to comment, but TVLine is reporting that production is due to begin in late October and carry on through to March.

They are also stating that producers Diane Ruggiero-Wright and Dan Etheridge are rejoining creator Rob Thomas on the project.

The article also states that this mini-series will focus on a serial killer in the show's fictional town of Neptune.

That's not all Veronica and her father Keith will have to deal with. There's also a sheriff (who will apparently be played by an African-American actress in her 50s) who will make life difficult for the pair too.

Veronica Mars originally aired in the US for two seasons on UPN, and then moved to The CW for one final season before its cancellation in 2007.
