After his close friend and butler Florian goes missing, Bash heads out on a mission to find him. This takes him via a gay bar, along with Carmen and Rhonda.

Bash seems slightly thrown after the handsome barman flirts with him, and is later left devastated when he discovers Florian has died from an AIDS-related illness.

The season 2 finale sees Rhonda (Kate Nash) and Bash (Chris Lowell) hastily marry in the GLOW wrestling ring, all in order to keep the British wrestler from being deported.

While season one hinted that Carmen was very fond of Bash, with the producer even pretending to be her boyfriend to her brothers at one stage, it seems his hasty marriage might be an attempt to suppress his feelings for and attraction to men.

Speaking about the storyline, Kate Nash, who plays Rhonda (aka Britannica), told Digital Spy: "I feel like Rhonda is such a go with the flow, live in the moment kind of person, it be will be interesting to see what happens when she finds out about Bash's sexuality.

"His butler, his best friend, died of AIDS, it's a very sensitive subject that I think he hasn't really acknowledged."

The wedding might have been a spur of the moment decision for Bash, but Kate felt that "he's actually ended up picking the right person to do that with".

Speaking to Digital Spy, Britney Young, who plays Carmen (aka Machu Picchu), said: "I think Carmen definitely has an affection for Bash – whether it's a romantic affection or a platonic brotherly affection, I'm not 100% sure yet. I think that will definitely continue to be explored in a potential season 3.

"Carmen wants Bash to be 100% truthful for himself. Whatever that means for his sexuality. But I think she also feels a little bit jealous. If he's going to marry any woman in GLOW, it should be her, not Rhonda. I think that's an interesting dynamic that we could play more to in season 3.

"It's not necessarily that she's in love with Bash, I think she's now dealing with the relationship that she thought was mutual and respectful in that way, and now, lo and behold, it's not."

Netflix's hit show about the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling has yet to be commissioned for a third season. However following the show's rave reviews and popularity with fans, it seems like a matter of time.

Britney also teased a potential clash – and not just in wrestling terms – for Rhonda and Carmen in season 3, as Britannica turns her back on her friend for love.

She explained: "Carmen is basically adjusting her life to make Bash feel comfortable. He moves into their room, she basically drops everything that she's doing to go help him find Florian. She really does try to counsel him through all these confusing feelings that he's having, and I think that put a strain on Rhonda and Carmen's relationship.

"I think that already put a strain and tension between Rhonda and Carmen in season 2, so I think for sure season 3, we will definitely play that up a little bit, now that Bash and her are married."

This season also cut an amazing scene from the fan-favourite episode, which involved a full episode of the wrestling show-within-a-show, GLOW.

GLOW's second season sees the ladies continuing their battle to keep the show on the air, as their timeslot is given to a men's wrestling show, along with tackling a #MeToo-style storyline.

GLOW season 2 is available on Netflix now.

Kate Nash will play the Festival Republic stage at Reading Festival on Saturday, August 25 and Leeds Festival on Sunday, August 26. Head this way to buy tickets.
