Horror legend M Night Shyamalan is giving the small screen another go, teaming up with Apple for a new TV show.

Best known as the man behind such edge-of-your-seat movies as The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Split, Shyamalan has become the master of the twist ending. So, what mind-bending ideas will he bring to his next project?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 47-year-old will be an executive producer for a series written and created by BAFTA-nominated Tony Basgallop (Berlin Station, 24: Legacy).

Shyamalan, who is hard at work on the long-awaited Unbreakable/Split sequel Glass, will also be in the director's chair for the pilot.

Little else is known about the project, but with a name as big as Shyamalan's, you can expect that there will be some equally impressive talent in front of the camera. Who knows, maybe they can even get Brucey on board?

The as-yet-untitled series has gone straight to full order and will have ten episodes of half an hour each.

What to Read Next

Shyamalan's show joins an already impressive line-up as Apple builds up its original programming slate. Hoping to compete with the likes of Amazon and Netflix, expect the house that Steve Jobs built to deliver some big series over the next few years.

However, here's hoping that the show can fare a little better than Shyamalan's last foray into TV. After a well-received first season, his second run of Wayward Pines slumped somewhat, and the series was recently been cancelled ahead of a possible season 3.

The new show is certainly shrouded in Shyamalan-esque mystery, but we're preparing for another head-scratcher.
