Natalie Portman has finally made use of the fact that Millie Bobby Brown is pretty much her doppelgänger by taking on the role of Millie's Stranger Things character Eleven during a sketch on Saturday Night Live.

Natalie returned to host SNL last night (February 3), Portman channelled her inner Eleven for a "sneak peek" at Stranger Things 3.

In the sketch the psychokinetic Eleven takes love-interest Mike to find others like her in a bid to prove she's not alone – and she succeeds, but not in the way Stranger Things fans might expect when it looks like hew new friends' psychic abilities all come with some nasty side effects.

"I can start fires with my mind, but every time I do, I throw up in my mouth a little," Thirteen, the first to appear, shares.

"I can read people's minds, but every time I do, I fart a little," another one called Nine chips in.

Others with paranormal abilities keep on coming, and their special abilities range from being able to run really fast – "like The Flash, but every time I do I get a boner" – to making fantastic chilli (with the only downside being a bleeding brain) and also doing a "pretty good Borat impression" that knocks them into a coma for two days.

Luckily, Portman's Eleven is accepting of her Stranger brothers and sisters, telling them: "Alone you're freaks, but together we're family."

The sketch comes just a few weeks after social media users went a little crazy upon realising that Natalie Portman and Millie Bobby Brown are doubles, which meant that fans were pretty excited to see it (kind of) become a reality:

Saturday Night Live will now take a break until March 3, when Charles Barkley will host and Migos features as the musical guest.

Meanwhile, the actual Stranger Things 3 featuring actual Eleven Millie Bobby Brown isn't expected to hit our Netflix lists until sometime next year, so Natalie Portman's sneak peek is the closest thing we'll get to a teaser for a while.
