There has been tremendous buzz over the last year about a potential revival of Lost — but it's not actually happening. At least not yet.
Speculation picked up last year about the Disney-owned US channel bringing back Lost in some form when executive producer Carlton Cuse reached a new deal with the network.
Cuse himself previously said he was excited to explore the possibilities of the Lost universe as well. For now though, development hasn't gone any further than that.
Chatting with TVLine this week at the TCA press tour in Los Angeles, ABC president Channing Dungey said that talk of continuing the franchise has yet to move beyond the theoretical stage.
"We have not had any official discussions about that," she clarified. "It's something that's on a list of, 'Wouldn't that be great if…' but at this point it's only at that place."
Dungey mentioned that she's keen to have a discussion with Carlton Cuse about delving back into Lost, although she stressed: "I haven't had that conversation with him yet."

Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof previously blessed a resurrection of the franchise without his involvement, so long as no characters from the original series are used.
"[I] hope that when that happens, whoever is doing it, doesn't take the characters from the original Lost and put them in the new one," he said last year.
"Because we worked so hard to end that show and to give [the survivors] some level of closure. I know there was some debate as to whether or not there was enough closure."
Lost originally aired on ABC in the US from 2004 to 2010.
