Lost actor Matthew Fox has opened up about returning to TV after years away, admitting "it's good to be back".
The star last appeared on the small screen in the long-running TV hit in 2010, subsequently appearing in a few movies before retiring in 2015. He will make his comeback in Last Light, which he also executive produces.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox explained: "One of the things that I had never done was executive produce and that was kind of, you know, haunting me a little bit like, man, I really wonder what it would feel like to be involved in more aspects of the story other than just the character that I'm portraying. So we took the leap."

Fox plays the role of a petro-chemist called Andy Yeats who discovers an urgent issue with the world's oil supply while on a mission to the Middle East, and must get to the bottom of the mystery while protecting his family.
"I was very much attracted to the backdrop in which the story is set, the oil crisis, with this beautiful family unit separated by the crisis and trying to get back together and be reunited," Fox continued.

He also wanted to work alongside producer Bill Choi, adding: "He's just become a very close, very good friend, and to have the opportunity to collaborate creatively and have our fingerprints in a story like this and shoot in many different locations, that was also attractive."

Director Dennie Gordon went on to explain of Fox's decision to come out of retirement for this particular project: "He was waiting for something that had a message that would be worth his time if he was going to be away from his family. It had to be something powerful."
Last Light will also star Downton Abbey's Joanne Froggatt, with the first trailer released last month.
Last Light drops every episode on September 8 on Peacock in the US. The service is available through Sky and NOW in the UK.
