Warning: This article contains major spoilers for Game of Thrones season 7 episode 7 'The Dragon and the Wolf'.

Wow, now that was a movie-sized epic episode and a half. The downside? We now have just under a year to theorise like crazy.

With so many developments going on, these are the biggest questions we find ourselves asking after the season 7 finale:

1. Are Tormund and Beric OK?

Alright, it's not exactly the most important question of the whole episode, but as it's stuck in our minds, we need to ask it.

As The Night King and his new blue flame/ice (we're not quite sure which it is) breathing dragon brought down The Wall, things looked pretty bleak for our favourite Wildling and Brotherhood member.

What to Read Next

Surely, after surviving so many lives and battles, and the horror of last week, they wouldn't just be killed off like that? We all know the Game of Thrones rule: if you don't see a death, they're probably not dead.

We 100% predict we'll see them both, alive and well, at the bottom of the ruined wall, along with Eddison Tollett and a few other surviving Wildlings and Night's Watch members.

2. Who's going to tell Jon the awkward news?

Rhaegar and Lyanna in Game of Thronespinterest
HBO

It's finally been confirmed in actual words: Jon is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. And the pair secretly married, making Jon the official rightful heir to the Iron Throne, ahead of Daenerys. Oh, and he's her nephew but we'll get on to that.

Plus, his name's actually Aegon Targaryen. He still looks like more of a Jon to us. Aegon is a name used many times by the Targaryens over the centuries, starting with King Aegon I, the first king of the Targaryen dynasty of Westeros. The Mad King's father was also called Aegon, as was Rhaegar's first son, who was killed by Gregor Clegane.

Currently, only Bran and Sam know this vital information. It will be interesting and rather awkward to see who is going to tell him, and whether anyone else will find out before Jon.

3. How will Daenerys react to the news, and will she have Jon's baby?

It surely won't take long before Daenerys and Jon both find out about the fact that she's actually his aunt, and they both throw up in their mouths, what with the fact that they've just got it on.

Firstly, there's the whole incest thing to tackle. It may be disgusting and illegal in our world, but in Game of Thrones land (aka the mind of George RR Martin), it's not that big of a deal. In fact, Targaryens would often marry their own. And it's not quite as bad as Jaime and Cersei. But still, you'd think that two people like Jon and Daenerys would think against it.

And then, there's the problem regarding the Iron Throne. Jon now outranks her in terms of sitting on the damned thing. But then again, Jon has never really been all that bothered about it. He's far more concerned about fighting the White Walkers than power. Maybe they can find a way to still make Daenerys the queen, or will Daenerys choose to not believe it, or even worse, fight against him?

And THEN, there's the whole issue regarding the North and the rest of the Starks. Will they now look at him differently? Surely there's no way most of those Houses will now bow down to a Targaryen ruler? Will this mean that Sansa will become the true Queen of the North and stand in Jon's way?

4. Is Cleganebowl ever going to happen?

Mountain and Hound in Game of Thronespinterest
HBO

This was the closest we've come to the Clegane brothers finally battling to the death ever since the term 'Cleganebowl' was thought up about 42 years ago.

But while The Hound squared up to his mute and slightly-undead bigger brother The Mountain, the former just had a few words to say before leaving him. What the hell? Finish him! OK, that would have been daft in the circumstances.

But The Hound's choice of words was intriguing. "You know who's coming for you. You've always known." What the hell does that mean? Has The Hound seen another vision in the flames? Does he know that he'll one day kill his brother? How would The Mountain know? Was it just a figure of speech rather than him actually knowing?

Whatever he meant, Cleganebowl will surely happen in season 8.

5. Is Cersei really pregnant?

We've already asked this question, but we still don't really trust Cersei when it comes to her preggers situation.

She could easily have been playing Tyrion by rubbing her belly in front of him, and would she really allow Jaime to leave if he was the father of her fourth child?

And if she really is pregnant, we wonder whether the child is actually Euron's. They've clearly been colluding behind Jaime's back, so it wouldn't be out of the realms of possibility that they've secretly had fun between the sheets.

6. Will Cersei's lie be her eventual undoing?

Cersei's call for a truce between herself, Jon and Daenerys was so good that even Jaime fell for it. However, she's instead going to let her rivals deal with the undead threat, while she teams up with Euron and the Golden Company and wait for whoever comes back to kill them later.

As Jaime said himself, whoever comes out of the Great War – the White Walkers or Jon and Dany's armies – it's not going to end pretty for the Lannisters.

Now that she's even seemingly lost Jaime, she can't expect many people to come to her rescue if the undead make their way inside King's Landing.

7. What does Qyburn have up his sleeve?

Qyburn seemed genuinely fascinated and puzzled at the sight of the wight. But he's dealt with dying things before (The Mountain) and is known as one of the greatest, if not unorthodox, healers in all of Westeros.

Could he be planning some kind of experiments regarding how wights work? Maybe he'll kill a load of commoners and see if he can turn them into zombies.

8. Where is Jaime going?

Jaime in Game of Thronespinterest
HBO

Jaime called Cersei's bluff and got out of King's Landing alive, despite essentially becoming a traitor against her.

He's now riding north like he said he would, but what's his aim? His brief conversation with Brienne ("f**k loyalty") probably did him a world of good. He knows what's more important now – killing the real threat and saving those he loves (which is essentially his unborn child right now, if indeed it exists and is even his).

We'd like to assume that Bronn will join him north (is he still having a pint with Pod?), and then they'll all team up with Brienne and serve under Tyrion, Daenerys and Jon until the threat is hopefully vanquished. But then what? Will we get the prophecy we've all long suspected, that he'll be the 'little brother' that will kill Cersei in the end?

10. Has winter already come to King's Landing?

Jaime in Game of Thronespinterest
HBO

Just as Jaime pushed forward north, we were treated to a little montage of how snow was starting to fall all across King's Landing and beyond.

Winter has seemingly come to the capital much faster than we may have predicted. Is this because the Night King has pushed through the wall, and so the Long Night is already here?

Does that also mean that Daenerys's vision from way back of the ruined throne room covered in snow going to become a reality?

11. Will the Stark sisters be BFFs from now on?

Littlefinger in Game of Thronespinterest
HBO

In all of that excitement, we almost forgot that Littlefinger finally met his end, after Arya and Sansa finally stopped bickering and conspired to take him down for all his crimes against their family over the years.

We're assuming that Bran finally stepped up and revealed to his sisters all that he knew about Littlefinger's schemings and murders, and so perhaps this means that they will use their time-travelling brother for more revelations in season 8.

With Littlefinger dispatched, what does that mean for the Vale? That makes wetty Robin Arryn the new leader now that the de facto ruler is out of the way. We haven't seem him for a while. Maybe he's got all buff and hard since we last saw him. Or perhaps, the Vale will find a way to elect a new ruler in his place. A certain warrior Stark girl, perhaps?

12. Is Reek dead for good?

HBO

'Little' Theon finally found a way to fight through all of his weaknesses this week. Ironically, it was his lack of balls that helped him defeat the leader of the remaining Ironborn thugs, and the rest seemed happy to serve him from now on.

Sure, it's probably the least important storyline going on right now, but Theon is now on his way to rescue Yara and defeat his uncle Euron.

Hopefully, his fight win and his moving conversation with Jon means that we've seen Theon act like Reek for the last time, and will firmly stand up to his uncle. Though, we'd hope that he'd get some kind of help. But does anyone else care about Yara enough?

13. What is Tyrion up to?

Peter Dinklagepinterest
HBO

Did you notice that strange, dejected look that Tyrion gave to camera when he saw Jon Snow slip into Daenerys's chambers at the end of the episode?

Some fans are theorising that this may be a sign that Tyrion secretly betrayed Dany during his face-to-face meeting with sister Cersei in King's Landing. Keep in mind that we never actually saw how the siblings came to their resolution to work together against the Night King. Perhaps Tyrion has finally come back into the Lannister family fold?
