Heinz has launched its new ad campaign and, as fans of Mad Men will recognise, the advert isn't new at all.

'Pass the Heinz' was pitched by Jon Hamm's Don Draper in a season six episode of the show, although it was rejected at the time.

Well now the advert has made the leap from a fictional TV show set in the 1960s to the real world.

The minimalist adverts feature food against a white background with the caption 'Pass the Heinz', and is meant to make your brain think that something is missing (that something being ketchup, specifically of the Heinz variety, duh).

The adverts will appear on billboards in New York City and online.

Ad Week reports that these aren't the exact images seen in the episode, but were lovingly recreated from scratch.
