The beating that Jon Snow handed to Ramsay Bolton in this week's Game of Thrones looked brutal for a reason. It was real.

Well, sort of. Kit Harington has revealed that he "actually did punch Iwan [Rheon] in the face, twice" filming the violent climax to 'Battle of the Bastards'.

"By accident… which he took really well," Harington added. "I had to buy him a pint after that one!"

It was a tough day on set for Rheon, with director Miguel Sapochnik admitting that the show "spent an entire day beating Ramsay".

"Poor Iwan took it on the chin a few times," Sapochnik told Entertainment Weekly. "But he did an amazing job. They both did.

"There's this weird moment that made the final cut when Iwan stops scrunching up his face to receive the blows and just lets himself relax into it.
