If you've watched Game of Thrones from the start, you should know what you're getting by now. But that doesn't stop the HBO drama being criticised for its many violent and sexually-charged scenes.
Now, star Maisie Williams has defended the show, telling Digital Spy and other publications that such moments aren't written for the sake of shocks.
"People forget that with the really controversial scenes of the show," said Williams, who plays Arya Stark. "[Creators] David [Benioff] and Dan [Weiss] don't just write it, there's this huge discussion process that go into the decisions they make.
"They go through these hugely graphic or upsetting scenes. They don't just write it because they want characters to be killed or be put in awful situations. They're in love with the show and have an emotional connection with the characters.
"It's not just willy-nilly writing, there's big long discussions that go into it. People often dismiss that and say 'you didn't have to rape Sansa' and that, and of course people are allowed their own opinion but sometimes they dismiss the struggle."
Liam Cunningham - who plays Davos Seaworth in the series - agreed with his co-star, saying that you'll never be able to please everybody.

"One of the reasons they do it – if you took out the sex and the violence, which can be very graphic or a little too sexy – but the thing is, it's a grown-up show, for grown-ups.
"If we wanted to keep the political correct brigade smiling and we took all of that out, you would consider us to be patronizing or condescending or being a nanny.
"We put this stuff in because the characters are not black and white, they're grey. It's a medieval, f**ked up world and it would be wrong to leave that stuff out. The violence is disgusting in our show because violence is disgusting, it's not pretty."
The pair also told us that they don't expect Game of Thrones to last much longer.
Both actors will return for the sixth season, which comes to HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic in the UK on April 24.
Game of Thrones' season five DVD and Blu-ray boxset will be released on March 14.
