The countdown to Penny Dreadful season three is on with a trailer and poster that are both sexy and gruesome.
The paths of the monsters of Victorian London cross again, as Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) desperately rages against the evil within her.
This season, Vanessa seeks treatment from an American therapist named Dr Seward whose methods are unorthodox, to say the least.
Dr Seward is played by Broadway legend Patti LuPone, who previously starred as Vanessa's mystical mentor the Cut-Wife last season.
Also introduced in the upcoming episodes will be Spooks actor Shazad Latif as Robert Louis Stevenson's scheming Dr Henry Jekyll.
Penny Dreadful returns on May 1 in the US on Showtime. Sky Atlantic airs the show in the UK.
