Mulder and Scully are in more danger than ever before in the latest trailer for The X-Files' revival.

Fox's two-minute extension of a teaser released on Monday (September 28) finds Mulder (David Duchovny) resuming his life's work in exposing an alien conspiracy.

This time around, Mulder is clued into a worldwide invasion plot by Tad O'Malley (Joel McHale), a conservative newsman who has major connections.

"It will probably start on a Friday," O'Malley says of the invasion.

"What will seem like an attack on America – by terrorists or Russia, driven by a well-oiled and well-armed multi-national group of elites using alien technology that the government's been hiding for 70 years."
