There will be a host of frightening new faces on Penny Dreadful - including the mythic Dr Jekyll.
Penny Dreadful will continue to dig deeper into the history of horror literature next year, as it introduces Shazad Latif (Spooks) as the mysterious scientist.
Jekyll was created for author Robert Louis Stevenson's 1886 novella The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
There will also be a twist ahead for Patti LuPone, who played the Cut-Wife in Penny Dreadful's second season.
This time around, Broadway legend LuPone will be portraying Vanessa Ives's (Eva Green) American therapist Dr Seward.
Dr Seward is bringing along her secretary (Bright Star's Samuel Barnett), as elusive Native American Kaetenay (Wes Studi), zoologist Dr Alexander Sweet (Christian Camargo) and Dorian Gray's (Reeve Carney) latest protégé Justine (Jessica Barden) also find themselves in Victorian England.
No air date is scheduled yet for Penny Dreadful's nine-episode third season on Showtime.
