Fear the Walking Dead earned the biggest-ever debut for a cable series with its premiere on Sunday (August 23), according to Nielsen figures.
The AMC zombie series reached a record-breaking 10.1 million viewers last night, way up from the 5.35 million who tuned in for companion show Walking Dead's 2010 debut and the 6.88 million who watched this past spring's Better Call Saul opener.
Fox won the key 18-49 demographic with 1.4 on Sunday (August 23) thanks to its NFL coverage.
Pre-season football earned 1.8 (5.69m) at 8pm on Fox overall and 1.6 (5.23m) at 9pm.
Bachelor in Paradise suffered head-to-head with the NFL, earning 1.3 (4.20m) at 8pm on ABC.
The ABC News special Katrina: 10 Years After the Storm reached 0.6 (3.78m) at 10pm on ABC.
Big Brother hit 2.2 (6.99m) at 8pm on CBS.
