NBC is making the premiere of Heroes Reborn a major television event by giving it a movie-length timeslot.
The return of Tim Kring's science fiction series Heroes is getting a two-hour opening slot on September 24 in the US.
NBC president Robert Greenblatt revealed at the TCA press tour today (August 13) that The Blacklist's return will be moved back a week to October 1 at 9pm ET to accommodate the scheduling shift.
Heroes Reborn will bow on September 24 at 8pm ET, followed by the debut of freshman drama The Player at 10pm ET.
To accompany its two-hour television return, Heroes Reborn's opener will also be shown on the big screen at the Toronto Film Festival in September prior to its NBC airing.
The NBC series brings back many of the original series' favourites – including Jack Coleman, Masi Oka and Greg Grunberg – as well as adding newcomers Zachary Levi and Ryan Guzman.
