Jon Bernthal is set to reprise his role as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, in a new special for Disney+.
While plot details are being kept under wraps for the time being, Deadline reports that the special will be in the same vein as Werewolf by Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
Bernthal will both star in and co-write the special alongside Reinaldo Marcus Green, who is also on board to direct. The special is set to premiere in 2026.

Bernthal first debuted the role of Frank Castle during the second season of Netflix’s Daredevil series in 2015, before going on to star as the titular character in The Punisher, which aired for two seasons on Netflix.
The character will next appear in upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, which is set to premiere on the streamer on March 4 in the US and March 5 in the UK.

Cox recently explained that the show hasn't had the smoothest journey to becoming what it currently is, saying: "Vincent and I were both not 100% convinced what we were doing at the time was the right path, but we're both good soldiers and professionals, and we were trying to be open-minded.
"The writers' strike happened, then the actors' strike, which gave the producers an opportunity to look at our episodes and decide that it wasn't quite working. [The reworked version] feels much more in keeping with the kind of stuff we did at Netflix."
Daredevil seasons 1-3 are streaming on Disney+. Daredevil: Born Again is due to premiere on March 5 in the UK, and March 4 in the US.
