Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson has unveiled a facial hair transformation.
The actor, who played Mitchell Pritchett in the hit US sitcom, debuted his clean shaven face at the 2024 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 15).
Ditching his signature beard, Ferguson arrived on the red carpet with his husband Justin Mikita, wearing a blue suit, matching tie and burgundy shoes.
On the reaction to his new look, the actor said: "It's like Jennifer Aniston, when she got a haircut in Friends. I shaved it for a part. I was doing a reading. I was playing Truman Capote in this thing, and so I shaved my beard. And I'm so happy I did."

He continued: "It's going to be an awkward few months for everyone as [the beard] comes back. We're just going to have to pull through it together. It comes back really light, and it's not pretty. So, I need America to come together and support me on this journey."

Ferguson later took to Instagram to share a carousel of pictures from the star-studded evening.
The post featured an image of the actor reuniting with his Modern Family co-star Sofia Vergara, who was nominated for her role in Netflix drama Griselda.
Ferguson also shared a snap of himself with his "idol" Carol Burnett, as well as a sneaky picture of Only Murders in the Building stars Martin Short and Steve Martin rehearsing their presenting segment.

This year, samurai drama Shōgun took home a total of 14 Emmy awards, breaking the record for the amount of prizes taken home during a single ceremony.
The Bear took the majority of the comedy gongs, with Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Liza Colón-Zayas winning in the Lead Actor, Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress categories.
Baby Reindeer also had a successful night. The drama earned four awards, which included Lead Actor and Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series for stars Richard Gadd and Jessica Gunning.
