Knives Out star Don Johnson has joined the cast for Dr Odyssey, the new drama from Ryan Murphy.

As per Deadline, the star will appear alongside the previously announced Joshua Jackson in the new ABC series, which is reported to be set on a cruise ship.

Murphy, who is known for his work on American Horror Story and Glee, will write and produce the series, with Jackson also serving as an executive producer. Paris Barclay, who collaborated with Murphy on Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, will direct the series.

Blanc returned for another case in Glass Onion, and writer-director Rian Johnson recently revealed that his production company was gearing up for a third entry in the franchise, with the filmmaker teasing what could be expected.

"We make these movies as entertainment first and foremost. What was exciting about doing [Glass Onion] was the notion of trying to emulate [Agatha] Christie with a completely new story."

Johnson, who also directed Looper and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, also explained his approach to filmmaking, saying he wanted to resist nostalgia: “It's the exact opposite of what I'm always trying to get to: something vibrant and sharp that feels very present."

There is currently no release date for Dr Odyssey.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is available to stream on Netflix. Knives Out is available now on 4K Ultra-HD, Blu-ray and DVD, as well as on Prime Video, iTunes and other digital platforms.
