Former Bachelorette star Trista Sutter has expressed support for a gay version of The Bachelor.
The issue has recently made headlines following Bachelor star Juan Pablo Galavis expressing his opinion that a non-traditional relationship wouldn't fit the show.
"There's this thing about gay people, that it seems to me, and I don't know if I'm mistaken or not, you know I have a lot of friends and that, they're more pervert in a sense," Galavis was quoted as saying in January.
Galavis later issued a formal apology, but stressed that his words had been taken out of context.
Sutter - who starred on The Bachelorette in 2003 - has now said that contestants should be able to find love on The Bachelorette and The Bachelor regardless of "race, gender [or] sexual preference".
"I think that everyone deserves love and I'd love to see anyone go for the show if they're in it for the right reasons," she told E! News.

She also commented: "I think it's always up to the producers, so whatever they decide. I'm always going to be a loyal fan. No matter who is at the home, you know, I think everyone deserves love."
Trista met her husband Ryan Sutter on The Bachelorette, and the couple recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary.
The reality star has also penned her own marriage advice book titled Happily Ever After: The Life Changing Power of a Grateful Heart.
