Bones has cast country singer Charlie Worsham in a guest role.

Worsham will be appearing in an upcoming episode which is to be directed by Bones star David Boreanaz, reports TV Line.

The singer has been cast as an up-and-coming musician who finds himself at the centre of a Jeffersonian probe.

Worsham is best known for releasing the hits 'Could It Be' and 'Want Me Too', and for touring with Taylor Swift and Miranda Lambert.

Fox has announced that Bones's current season will also feature appearances from Kelly Rutherford, The West Wing's Richard Schiff and Olympian McKayla Maroney.

Bones airs on Fridays at 8/7c on Fox.
