Carly Pope has joined the cast of The Tomorrow People.

The Popular actress will have a recurring role in the upcoming US TV remake on The CW, reports TVLine.

She will play Morgan Burke, a superhuman who has managed to keep her powers a secret thanks to an affair with a powerful man.

However, she soon becomes a pawn in the battle between the two species when her connection is uncovered.

Pope has previously had roles in the likes of Outlaw, 24 and Dirt.

The Tomorrow People - starring Robbie Amell and Luke Mitchell and featuring Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens as a computer - follows a team of youngsters with special powers who represent the next phase of human evolution.

The series premieres on Wednesday, October 9 at 9/8c on The CW. The series will air on E4 in the UK. Watch a preview for the show below:
