We're back at San Diego Comic-Con's Ballroom 20 for another packed day of news and panels, but we just had to bring you updates from the Bones panel! Can you believe the show's about to begin its ninth season? Yeah, us neither...
Star David Boreanaz and execs Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan are expected to join us for lots of teases about what's coming up - and, we're sure, some Booth-Brennan gossip. Check back at 12.30pm PT / 3.30pm ET / 8.30pm BST to find out what they have to say...
13:32David thanks the fans for their support, but that's a wrap on the panel! Excuse us - we have to go and buy a hat for a certain wedding that's coming up...
13:31Is there anything David and Emily don't know about yet that we can hear? Hart refuses to let anything slip, but David's only doing bunny ears behind his head!
13:30Hart says David has many wonderful qualities - but he's not a good-looking woman. David seems to see this as a challenge - and he pretends to hoist up his breasts! He even slaps Hart away when he goes in for a little touch. Very, very silly!
13:30The next fan wants to know which character other than their own they'd like to play. "Booth has many personalities - does that count?" David asks. Emily can't choose, but says it would be interesting to play Booth. "I honestly think we should do a Some Like It Hot episode, where me and Sweets had to go do that thing and she was trapped on some remote island," David says. Emily seems very keen to play a guy though. "I've played men before," she says stubbornly (adding that it was in college).
13:27What about a Bones movie? Hart says for that to happen, the television show would have to stop. So maybe they'll talk about it when the series ends. Emily brings up Veronica Mars and suggests that it could be possible. "Do the two leads like each other?" Hart says. "That's the thing, and that we have." Emily and David put on some very funny awkward faces.
13:26Hart says Bones does better internationally than in the US often. He adds that he has a list of six or seven possible places, though I don't think Emily's suggestion of Afghanistan is entirely serious.
13:25Would the cast like to film in an international location? Morocco, Paris, and Rome are immediately suggested by Emily and David. "Tuscany," Emily says dreamily.
13:25Will we see Dr Addy again? Hart says it's on the list of things to do, but they don't have any plans yet. David suggests an episode with Booth being stuck in an elevator with Addy. "We'd love to have him back," Emily says, as Hart adds: "Never say never."
13:22Any chance of flashbacks to young Brennan? Hart says he's interested in seeing everyone as their teenage versions. "I think it would be really fun to have kids playing them," he says, but he doesn't know how they'd do it yet.
13:22Will the show revisit the storyline of Brennan being shot and having a near-death experience? Hart says he's not sure what they're going to do - he'd love to have her mom coming back in some way and challenge her view that it was just something in her brain.
13:19Emily says she liked being blonde ("I don't know if I had more fun...") but she's not a big fan of wigs. "I like Emily any way." David says, sweetly.
13:18Hart reveals that Booth and Brennan will go on an undercover mission to a couples' retreat, and says it's fun because of the "brutal" problems in their own relationship. "Will they be helped or are they smarter than the guy at the retreat?" he questions. "They're smarter, I'm guessing," Emily says.
13:17David says there are so many episodes to pick from and praises the rest of the cast and the crew. He basically doesn't answer because there's too much to pick from!
13:16A very excited fan gets to the microphone - and David pretends to be super excited and starstruck to see her! It's very funny. Anyway, the fan wants to know which was their favourite episode - or the grossest dead body? "And I love you," she finishes, getting applause from the crowd. As to the answer, Brennan says she loves doing undercover episodes. And the grossest thing? The "half-fleshy, half-bone body".
13:14Is there any aspect of Angel David wanted to bring to Booth but can't, or vice versa? David jokes that it's a "heavy" question! He says there's nothing really that the two characters share, though it would be useful for Angel to be able to walk outside...
13:11Will Sweets get back with Daisy this season? "I don't wanna tell you," Hart jokes. But he does say Sweets is still in the show and Daisy is still in the show.
13:09David says Booth will always have a "scar" in terms of his father. And Emily says you can forgive someone even if they have passed away, though she's not saying whether Booth's dad deserves forgiveness or not.
13:06Are Daisy and Sweets the younger version of Booth and Brennan? Hart says he likes showing aspects of Booth and Brennan's relationship in the other characters, so yes.
13:04David jokes that the stand-up comedy episode was a "nightmare"! "I'm just a joke to begin with," he quips, describing it as "difficult". But he does say the experience was "fun".
13:02David's being lovely about Emily, describing her as the best co-star, phenomenal, and someone who teaches him things every day. "It's a blessing," he says. David adds that during the fight scenes there is "subtext" which shows the real connection between the characters.
13:01Is it hard for David and Emily to play fights? "No," Emily deadpans. "It's very easy." She goes on to say it was "refreshing" to have a fight scene because they're expressing "frustration and emotion that's there" - and they don't get very many arguments.
12:59Emily says she's surprised Brennan doesn't want to donate her body to science - personally, she just wants to be cremated. "I don't know if I want to be dissected," she adds.
12:57David's idea for Pelant's death - he goes to a spray tanning salon, but the tan is poison! Emily points out they've already done a sunbed death.
12:56What would Booth say to Pelant if he was in this room? David jokes that he's not allowed to swear! "He's getting a little old - he needs to go fast," David adds, pointing out how Pelant messed up the whole 'marriage' thing. "I think Booth should take him out in a really strong manner, don't you think?"
12:54Hart shocks the audience by admitting he doesn't like serial killers! He's speaking about Christopher Pelant and says he "will last as long as he's interesting".
12:53"I think that there's definitely some closure there," David says. "You feel that that character can go on and deal with some things that he was struggling with." Which he thinks will help him in his relationship with Brennan!
12:53Now we're on to Booth's mom. David says it was "fantastic" working with Joanna Cassidy - "It was great to have her there." He says we'll be seeing her again this season!
12:51Emily says it was "wonderful" to see how Brennan's mother has affected her and "made her protect herself so much and hide her emotions".
12:51Ian adds that Booth and Brennan are in a "serious" place now - though only after David's mocked his English accent!
12:50Ian says the premiere is set three months on from the finale and the relationship between Booth and Brennan is "being pushed to a different place".
12:49Ian, who's directing the season premiere, says he should be preparing right now because they start on Tuesday! "I'll be able to tell you more when I've read the script," he jokes.
12:49The panel are talking about the fun of teasing their fans - and David jokingly moans about being called a troll!
12:48Hart says everybody is mad at Booth for "reneging" on the engagement, so he seeks out a former priest he knows. But wait, here we go - Hart confirms Booth and Brennan will get married this season.

12:47They're doing the bit where Booth calls it off, now. David - playing Brennan - does a big scrunched up face wail. It's great. The moderator goes to interrupt him, but he's too busy "having a moment".
12:45David just misread the word "virgins" as "vegans" to huge laughter. I mean, that could have been a big understanding.
12:43They're reading out the bit where Brennan proposes to Booth. David is jokingly getting very emotional and announces: "We have to cut!"
12:43Emily pauses halfway through: "Wait, should my voice be deeper?" Her low voice is great. David asks for some time to "feel the moment" - his Emily Deschanel impression is not exactly spot on... but very entertaining.
12:42The moderator Will Keck wants the stars to act out some moments from the finale. "Who are we playing?" Emily jokes. But actually the audience wants Emily and David to play each other's parts! This should be fun.
12:41Hart jokes that the engagement will be better scripted on screen!
12:40Stephen's not here, but apparently he's planning an episode which gets all the family members together. Now, what could that be? "Possibly like a party or something?" David suggests. Then he vows to do this properly, runs round the front of the panel, gets Emily to join him, gets down on one knee (to huge squeals) and says: "Okay, this is Booth now, not David... Bones, you have been there for me for so long and you have had so much meaning in my life. As this character I am asking you would you please marry me?" "I'm getting married to David Boreanaz!" Emily announces. Very cute.
12:38Here come our panellists - Ian Toynton, Hart Hanson, David Boreanaz - who jumps onto stage posing and giving peace signs like a boss - and the beautiful Emily Deschanel! She made it - and she's adorably mocking David's poses.
12:36The moderator just asked the audience if they want Booth and Brennan to get married. Unsurprisingly, there are some pretty loud cheers...
