James Gunn has given fans an exciting new update on the progress of Peacemaker season 2.
The director has been hard at work on the next season of the show, Gunn confirming back in October that he was in the process of writing the new episodes.
He's now shared a fresh update on where things stand, telling a fan on Threads that the second season is now "over halfway written".

When another fan asked how many projects he was writing, especially given his busy workload as the new co-boss of DC Studios, the director replied: "Just [Peacemaker] season 2 right now while I prep Legacy."
Legacy is Gunn's upcoming Superman movie, which is due to star David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan as Clark Kent and Lois Lane.
Back in June, the director said he would focus on Peacemaker after Superman, telling the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast: "Peacemaker's coming back right after Superman. That's my next thing."

Peacemaker made its debut almost exactly two years ago, and focuses on John Cena's titular character first introduced on the big screen in 2021's The Suicide Squad.
The show was quickly renewed for a second season, Gunn saying: "Creating Peacemaker has been one of the true highlights of my life, both professionally and otherwise, with John Cena and the incredible creative team around me, as well as our partners at HBO Max.
"To have something we all love so much be loved by the audience in turn has been a wonderful experience. I can’t wait for folks to see where Team Peacemaker goes in season two."
Peacemaker streams on Max in the US, and airs on Sky and NOW in the UK.
